East Side Stewards is building a community land trust to place lasting control of East Side land with the residents, growers, and neighbors who live on it, reversing decades of tax foreclosure, speculation, and absentee ownership that have stripped that control away. Land Trust Council members will shape and govern the trust as it takes form, deciding which land it acquires and how that land is held, setting the terms that keep homes and growing spaces permanently affordable, and carrying our land justice demands to Buffalo Common Council and elected officials. We are seeking East Side residents and practitioners ready to design a governance structure that will determine who controls East Side land for generations.

Preference goes to East Side of Buffalo residents, businesses owners, and community leaders (Zip Codes: 14204, 14208, East of Main 14209, 14211, 14212, 14214, 14215)
